Creative Demon
zealsprince is my primary online handle, and generally a more recognisable name than my real one. It covers my game development, modding, art and community work.
There is obvious overlap between my professional and personal work, but I keep them apart. Good digital hygiene, I suppose. zealsprince is where I experiment, try things that might not work, and run the more casual projects, especially around games and online communities.
It is not the handle I have always used. A lot of my older work sits under Catlinman, which I retired in 2020.
Game Development
My interest is in the indie scene: the creative freedom, the community around it, and how many disciplines a small team has to touch. It is the best place I know to test an idea quickly.
I still turn up to game jams, but these days the bulk of it is modding existing games. It is a fast way to learn, and the work reaches people immediately. There is a good chance you have run into one of my Lethal Company mods without knowing it.
Professionally I have worked with indie developers at Mojang Studios, specifically the former Oxeye Games team, and at Klei Entertainment, doing testing and feedback cycles.
Digital Art
Cover art is the work I am happiest with. A cover has one job, it has to survive being shrunk to a thumbnail in a list of a thousand others, and it has to belong to someone else's record rather than to me. That constraint is the interesting part.
Alongside that there is the work that is only mine: pieces I make because I want to, community art like the Lethal Company competition entry, and whatever the current project needs.
